1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on a computer, phone or other device when a website is used. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and device identifiers. They may keep a session secure, remember a choice, measure use or support connected content.
2. Who uses them
MediaMatic uses first-party technologies through mediamatic.uk. The site is built with WordPress and Breakdance and uses LiteSpeed Cache, WP Ticket Central, MailerPress, Central CRM and related security and communications components. A service embedded from another provider may set or receive its own cookies where enabled.
3. Strictly necessary technologies
Essential technologies may be used without consent where the applicable exemption permits because they are needed to provide a service you request or protect it. They may:
- maintain a WordPress administrator or client-portal login;
- protect forms, tickets and accounts against misuse;
- support caching, load delivery and site stability;
- remember privacy choices; or
- enable a secure ticket or service feature you specifically request.
Blocking all cookies in the browser may prevent login, account security or requested functions from working.
4. Functional technologies
Functional technologies may remember optional preferences or enable enhanced content such as video, chat or richer forms. Where they are not strictly necessary, they should remain disabled until you choose them.
5. Analytics and marketing
If analytics or marketing technologies are enabled, non-essential cookies or pixels will not be set until valid consent is obtained. Rejecting must be as straightforward as accepting, and withdrawing consent must be possible. Continued browsing, silence and pre-ticked options are not consent.
MediaMatic will favour proportionate settings, data minimisation and shorter retention. The consent interface and live cookie register must identify the enabled provider, purpose and duration rather than relying on a generic list.
6. Portal, forms and email tools
A portal login may require an essential authentication cookie. Ordinary contact and newsletter forms do not need optional tracking cookies merely to be submitted. MailerPress, Central CRM and emailvalidationtool.org processing is explained in the Privacy Notice.
7. Managing choices
Where optional technologies are present, use the site’s cookie settings control to change your choice. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser. Session cookies usually expire when the browser closes; persistent cookies remain until their stated expiry or deletion.
